Indeed, there are countless tireless contributors to FOSS and I would like to thank each and every one of them.


But there are only a limited number of seats on the Ubuntu Community Council.  An election was organized so the more than 500 official Ubuntu Members could decide which of them would serve.  The ballot used the &lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condorcet_method&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Condorcet Method&lt;/a&gt; for fairness.  Remarkably, more than 50% of eligible Ubuntu leaders participated in the ballot!  Elizabeth&#039;s  results in the ballot were very solid, so there is some evidence of real merit.
