I didn't find xte when I needed to record and playback mouse movements -- likely because it's packaged as xautomation with some other tools. I did have reasonable success with xnee. One trick when using xnee was that I was having to "zero" the mouse between clicks by clicking in the upper left corner of my screen. (Actually it was two clicks, as that action would open my Gnome menu, so click again to close.) I'm guessing that mouse acceleration was messing with the cursor placement.

The script xnee produces isn't very approachable, lots of numerical coding for movement and placement, so I doubt it could be scriptable as simply as xte seems to be.

CJ,

Thanks for the writeup on the conference. Stop by the registration desk to introduce yourself. I would be interested to learn what you think about the conference. Glad you are going to the social media panel. Skip Shuda will be a terrific moderator.

CJ provide some excellent recommendations that could make a major difference to businesses and other organizations that decide to take advantage of them. When we quantify the benefits of the environment he describes, it's much easier to make the business case to change to Linux (particularly Debian) and other FOSS tools and applications. Proprietary software is often a waste of money.

Penny,

Indeed, there are countless tireless contributors to FOSS and I would like to thank each and every one of them.

But there are only a limited number of seats on the Ubuntu Community Council. An election was organized so the more than 500 official Ubuntu Members could decide which of them would serve. The ballot used the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condorcet_method" rel="nofollow">Condorcet Method</a> for fairness. Remarkably, more than 50% of eligible Ubuntu leaders participated in the ballot! Elizabeth's results in the ballot were very solid, so there is some evidence of real merit. Please view the results of the ballot <a

There are countless "tireless" contributors to promote various open source communities.. let's hope this decision wasn't simply because of her gender and more to do with some astounding trait of merit.
